About Bas

“My name is Bas van den Nieuwenhof, I am 22 years old and I live in Amsterdam. During the academic year 20/21 I am, together with Luna, responsible for the external relations of the FSA.

Last year I completed the Bachelor Business Administration at the University of Amsterdam. During my last year I went on exchange to Hong Kong. I studied several finance courses at the University of Hong Kong. This is where I developed my interest in the world of finance.

I decided to do a full time board year at the FSA because I wanted to discover all the possibilities in the financial sector. During this year I get the chance to get to know so many different companies and people. For me this is the perfect way to orientate on my career. After this year I am going to study the Master Finance and Investments at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

In my function as external relations I am responsible for maintaining our existing company contacts, maintaining the relationships with our main partners and expanding our partner network.
Next to my external relations tasks I am the coordinator of the following events:

  • Amsterdam Investment Cruise
  • Big4 Mid4 Days
  • Data Science Competition
  • Ladies Banking Evening
  • London Banking Tour

The Data science competition is this years’ new FSA event.
This board year gave me the perfect opportunity to develop myself as well. Leadership experience, sales skills and planning skills are just a few of those developments. Furthermore I made very close friends and enjoyed all the social activities as much as possible.”
