Why would you want to work for NIBC’s Internal Audit department?
Internal Audit is the so-called Third Line of Defense in NIBC – meaning we provide independent assurance of process effectiveness to the Managing Board and the Supervisory Board of NIBC. Working for Internal Audit provides you with an unique opportunity to literally see every department, product and system of the Bank, either in The Hague and Amsterdam or in the Bank’s branches and affiliates in London, Brussels, Frankfurt and Rotterdam.
What will you do?
In Internal Audit, it is all about team work. You will operate in a small team of seven audit specialists. You will engage in the full suite of audit activities ranging from determining the ‘audit universe’ to discussing audit observations with senior management – including the members of NIBC’s Executive Committee. In due time, you will maintain your own ‘accounts’ – specific NIBC business units – to support business management in their risk governance and risk control. Working in Internal Audit is not only about providing assurance; you are encouraged to identify ‘loopholes’ and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings.

What will you get?
The benefits of a smaller dynamic firm: being able to work where, when and how you want. You will not work on a tiny piece of a huge complex puzzle within a big corporation, but see the direct impact of what you do in the firm and its customers. Being a talent in a smaller bank will give you substantial responsibilities, direct exposure to senior management and enable you to understand how the whole bank works and where you can best leverage your talents.
We might offer you a spot in the Talent Program together with a small group of selected talents from all over the bank. This 12 month intensive program focuses on your personal and professional development. For more information please have a look at our website. https://www.nibc.com/about-nibc/careers/talent-program/
