Corporate Banking Internship (Infrastructure Team)

NIBC Infrastructure is looking for an ambitious and talented intern that wants to gain experience in corporate banking, with a focus on the digital infrastructure sector.

Timelines

– Start: 1st May 2023

– Duration: full time for 3-6 months (in consultation, longer availability is preferred);

– Application period: until 30 March 2022;

Why would you want to work for NIBC’s Infra team?

NIBC has been a front-runner in terms of digital infrastructure debt investments, financing tickets of EUR 10-50m and building a large book of fiber and datacenter investments in the past 6 years. We are a team of ca. twenty colleagues of all types of backgrounds, working closely together in The Hague and London offices. Our team is continuously growing to accommodate the high deal flow in the sector. Besides digital infrastructure, NIBC Infra has recently started financing energy transition assets, which represents a new (and challenging) area of growth for our team.

Alongisde other team members of Infra, you will work on the execution of new deals and will support your colleagues with portfolio management tasks. Within our team you will gain valuable experience in the area of debt investments and (corporate) banking in general. What will you do?

As an Infra intern, you will be a member of the execution and portfolio management team and assist in origination activities in our The Hague office (NIBC headquarters). We work in small interdisciplinary deal teams with a clear client angle. You will be involved in the execution of new business opportunities as well as in the day-to-day management of existing transactions. You will work on the following activities:

  • Start with supporting tasks to get a feel of our asset class and processes;
  • Become an active deal team member by assisting a deal team captain with writing transaction proposals and closing of new transactions;
  • Review performance of existing transactions (portfolio management activities);
  • Perform market, industry and company specific analyses and due diligence;
  • Engage in side-projects of the Infra team.

Who are we looking for?

Dependable and committed team player with good analytical and communications skills. Extra-curricular activities and other relevant experience which show affinity with finance and/or infrastrucutre are appreciated but do not constitute a prerequisite. Furthermore, we are looking for a talent who is enthusiastic, naturally curious and continuously willing to learn.

  • Have a relevant Master’s degree in economics, business administration, law or technology, for example.
  • Enjoy analysing complex numerical problems.
  • Like taking initiative, are not afraid to ask questions and want to develop yourself.
  • Have a commercial mindset, like to work together, have a go-getter attitude and are involved

What you will get?

We offer you the chance to work and gain first-hand experience in the field of corporate banking. NIBC Infra has been a key financier in the Dutch banking landscape, with an increasing portfolio of loans and large ambitions. You will receive EUR 600,- in monthly compensation, EUR 30,- internet compensation per month, paid travel expenses and in case you live further away from The Hague and need to move for this internship, we can provide you with a monthly housing compensation of EUR 350,-.
