About

Are you interested in a career in banking but want to explore more than just M&A and Private Equity? Would you like to discover the different divisions within banking, learn what they do and develop practical skills along the way? Then the FSA Banking Club is the place for you!

The FSA Banking Club is designed to introduce students to the broad range of opportunities within the banking industry. Banking encompasses much more than M&A and Private Equity, and through the Banking Club, we aim to give students a better understanding of the different divisions, their activities and the career opportunities they offer.

The Banking Club organises accessible events in collaboration with leading banks, each focusing on a specific banking discipline, topic or skill. These sessions offer students the opportunity to:

  • Discover different divisions within banking, including Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Private Banking and Markets.
  • Gain insights into the activities and responsibilities of different banking teams.
  • Develop practical skills through informative sessions and interactive workshops.
  • Meet professionals from leading banks and learn about potential career opportunities.

Whether you are interested in financial markets, corporate financing, wealth management or investment banking, the Banking Club offers an opportunity to explore the industry beyond the areas you may already be familiar with.

What areas of banking can you explore?

The Banking Club covers a broad range of disciplines within the banking industry, including:

  • Investment Banking: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs).
  • Corporate Banking: Credit, cash management and corporate financing.
  • Private Banking: Wealth management and financial advisory services.
  • Markets: Trading, Sales and Structuring.

Each event focuses on a specific area, giving you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the work involved and the skills required.

Who are we looking for?

The Banking Club is open to all FSA members with an interest in exploring the banking industry. Whether you already have a clear idea of which banking division interests you or are simply curious about the opportunities within the sector, the Banking Club provides an accessible way to broaden your knowledge.

No matter your background or level of experience with banking, you can discover new areas of interest, develop relevant skills and connect with professionals from the industry.

What does a typical Banking Club session look like?

Each Banking Club session is organised in collaboration with a participating bank and focuses on a specific topic or skill within banking. Sessions are designed to be informative and interactive, allowing students to gain practical knowledge and a better understanding of the work carried out by different banking teams.

Rather than focusing solely on introducing the company, the emphasis is on learning something tangible about a particular banking discipline. This could involve exploring a financial topic, understanding the activities of a specific team or developing a practical skill relevant to the industry.

The exact format varies depending on the participating bank and the topic of the session, but the goal remains the same: to provide valuable insights into the many opportunities within banking.
